The Gen 1 3.0 TDI has a lot going on under the hood. Apparently one EGR cooler wasn't enough, so VW added an auxiliary cooler, more coolant connections, more seals, and a few extra opportunities for something buried underneath the intake to eventually leak.

This kit cleans all of that up.

Designed for the 2009–2012 3.0 TDI Gen 1, this package removes and bypasses the auxiliary EGR cooler while maintaining the coolant routing required for normal heater-core operation. No improvised hose loops, unnecessary adapters, or mystery plumbing required.

The billet coolant bypass is designed around the factory connection points, allowing it to interface with the original coolant pipes much like the OEM cooler did. Internal passages connect the coolant ports without adding external fittings or additional sealing points.

In other words: fewer parts, fewer joints, and fewer things hiding waiting to ruin your weekend.

VW gave the Gen 1 TDI a cooler for the cooler. We figured one less cooling system inside the cooling system probably wouldn't hurt.

A Tune will be required to software disable the EGR, or else you will get some codes.
